Testopel is a safe and well-tolerated treatment option for men with low testosterone. Implanting Testopel is a simple, 15-minute, in-office procedure. Testopel pellets are smaller than the width of a dime and are implanted just under the skin of the hip area or another fatty area. During the implantation process, the insertion area is cleaned and numbed. A small incision is made, and the pellet is implanted into the subdermal fat layer. The physician will then seal the insertion with Steri-Strips.
The pellet will remain implanted for 3-4 months before it is absorbed and needs to be replaced. Following the procedure, the insertion site will need to be cleaned and properly cared for during the relatively short healing process.
