Samala Joy Peñalver, WHNP-BC, is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Suffolk OB/GYN. She provides comprehensive gynecologic care, including routine exams, diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic conditions, contraceptive management, and patient education. She also has experience managing complex reproductive health needs, including menstrual disorders, menopause, and preventative care.
Samala earned her Master of Science in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Columbia University School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbia University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Cornell University.
She brings over a decade of advanced clinical experience in women’s health. Her background includes providing gynecologic and reproductive care, performing procedures such as endometrial biopsies and contraceptive device placement, managing sexually transmitted infections, and delivering patient counseling and education. She has also served as a preceptor to nurse practitioner students and has presented on women’s health topics at professional conferences.
