Randall E. Schrager, MD FACS, is a board-certified surgeon with over 29 years of experience providing quality, compassionate care to patients in the Port Jefferson area.
Dr. Schrager is an accomplished breast surgeon, having pioneered minimally invasive, image-guided breast biopsy procedures in Suffolk County in 1996. His expertise encompasses a range of breast-conserving techniques, including mammosite brachytherapy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and oncoplastics. He was a founding member of the Physician advisory committee for the Fortunato Breast Center and continues to serve as a member of Mather Hospital’s Breast Program Leadership Committee.
Dr. Schrager continues to perform a wide range of general surgical procedures with extensive experience in standard laparoscopy and robotic surgery. Aside from procedures for colon diseases, he is particularly interested in gallbladder surgery and all types of hernia repairs.
Dr. Schrager graduated from Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine in 1988 and completed his surgical residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in 1993. He achieved his Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery in 1994. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He serves as Director of Surgery at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital. In addition, he holds privileges at St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center and St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.
Dr. Schrager holds the honor of receiving the distinguished "Theodore Roosevelt Award" for outstanding dedication to the community. He has been serving the community for 29 years.
