Dr. Zeniou received his Doctorate of Medicine from Creighton University School of
Medicine in 1989. He has held the positions of Chief Resident in General Surgery at Stony
Brook University Hospital, Director of SICU for the VA Medical Center in Northport early in
his career, and Chief of General Surgery at St. Charles Hospital for several years. He
achieved his Board Certification by the American Board of Surgery in 1995. He is a Fellow
of the American College of Surgeons as well.
Dr. Zeniou is well versed in advanced laparoscopic surgeries such as colon resection,
gallbladder removal, and hernia repair. Dr. Zeniou performs Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic
Hernia repairs, Cholecystectomies (Gallbladder), Appendectomies, and many types of
complex Hernia repairs and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction. This advanced surgical
approach is minimally invasive, has less postoperative pain, smaller and possibly more
cosmetically appealing incisions, a shorter hospital stay, shorter recovery time and
provides a faster return to work.
He is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area including John T. Mather Memorial
Hospital, St Charles Hospital, and Rehabilitation Center and St. Catherine of Siena Medical
Center.
