General Surgery Associates Now A Division of NY Health
New York Health (NYHealth) is proud to announce that General Surgery Associates has joined its premier primary and specialty care practice. The office will remain at its current location— 226 N. Belle Meade Rd., Suite C, E. Setauket, NY 11733.
“The addition of these physicians will allow us to continue providing personalized, compassionate, high-quality surgical care,” said Dr. Rohit Reejsinghani, Executive Director of NY Health. “Their expertise in the North Shore area is truly unmatched and we’re excited to welcome them as we continue to expand our surgical division.”
The board-certified surgeons practicing at this location are Randall E. Schrager, MD, FACS, Andrew N. Zeniou, MD, FACS, and Colleen McCloy, MD, FACS. They have advanced training in the surgical treatment of oncologic, colorectal, general, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery.
Dr. Schrager is an accomplished breast surgeon, having pioneered minimally invasive, image-guided breast biopsy procedures in Suffolk County in 1996. His expertise encompasses a range of breast-conserving techniques, including mammosite brachytherapy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and oncoplastics. He was a founding member of the Physician advisory committee for the Fortunato Breast Center and continues to serve as a member of Mather Hospital’s Breast Program Leadership Committee.
Dr. Zeniou is well versed in advanced laparoscopic surgeries such as colon resection, gallbladder removal, and hernia repair. Dr. Zeniou performs Robotic-Assisted Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies (Gallbladder), Appendectomies, and many Hernia repairs. This advanced surgical approach is minimally invasive, has less postoperative pain, smaller and possibly more cosmetically appealing incisions, a shorter hospital stay, shorter recovery time, and a faster return to work.
Dr. McCloy returned to Long Island in 1999 and has been an Attending General Surgeon at both John T. Mather Memorial Hospital and St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center for almost 20 years. She is an active member of the Breast Program Leadership Committee and participates in the Breast Cancer Conferences held at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital.
