Krista O’Donnell, MS, FNP-C, brings a wealth of clinical expertise, leadership, and a passion for advancing patient care to her role as Director of Advanced Practice Providers. Her journey into the medical field was deeply personal—after witnessing the compassionate and skilled care her grandmother received while hospitalized with end-stage colon cancer, Krista was inspired to dedicate her career to elevating the quality of care provided to patients and their families.
With over a decade of experience in acute and critical care settings, Krista has demonstrated a commitment to clinical excellence, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. She has held key roles at Stony Brook Medicine, where she served as a Nurse Practitioner in the Rapid Response Team and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Neurosurgery. In these roles, she not only provided high-quality patient care but also contributed to the education and professional development of nurses, residents, and fellow advanced practice providers.
In her role as Director of Advanced Practice Providers, Krista is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, professional growth, and innovation within the APP community. She aims to enhance the role of advanced practice providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while ensuring a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment.
Krista holds a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and maintains multiple advanced certification.
