At New York Health Center for Urology, our physicians are experts on low testosterone and male health disorders. They are able to diagnose the root of the problem and restore your vitality.

Testosterone levels can decline naturally in men over their life, especially after their 40’s. Symptoms of low testosterone may be subtle and go unrecognized.

Symptoms include:

  • fatigue and reduced energy,
  • low libido,
  • loss of mental clarity,
  • erectile dysfunction,
  • weight gain
  • body/facial hair loss,
  • decreased muscle mass,
  • depression, irritability, and anxiety

There are many forms of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), including injections, topical skin and nasal gels, patches and testosterone pellets. All forms of TRT are considered FDA schedule III controlled substances and cannot be bought without a prescription. Only men with symptoms of low testosterone and confirmed blood tests should consider testosterone replacement.

A relatively small number of men may experience side effects of testosterone treatment Possible side effects of testosterone therapy include: increased acne, fluid retention, increased urination, breast enlargement, decreased testicular size, decreased sperm count, increased aggressive behaviors, sleep disturbances.   Doctors also watch out for high red blood cell counts, which could increase the risk of clotting. The benefits of TRT usually outweigh potential risks. Talking with your doctor is the only way to know if testosterone therapy is right for you.

Our Brooklyn-based urologists can determine if TRT is recommended for you.

  • Dr. Iván Colón
  • Dr. Brent Yanke
  • Dr. Edward Zoltan

If you have any other questions about TRT or would like a healthier heart; less fat; stronger bones and improved mood, memory, spatial abilities and your vitality back, don’t hesitate to contact us.
