Rebecca Timoney, PA-C is currently a Certified Physician Assistant at the Pain Institute of Long Island. Rebecca began her education at the University at Albany where she studied Psychology. She was consistently recognized on the Dean’s list of distinguished students and took part in multiple honor societies before graduating in 2011 with her bachelor’s degree.

While applying to Physician Assistant programs, she used this time to work with Dr. Steven Pinsky treating chronic pain patients. She was accepted into the Physician Assistant Studies program at New York Institute of Technology and began September of 2013. Upon completing the program and being inducted into the Physician Assistant Honor Society in 2016, Rebecca was almost immediately hired back to continue working with chronic pain patients with Dr. Pinsky as a Physician Assistant. They both became part of the Pain Institute of Long Island in 2018.

Rebecca has used and continues to use the principles and knowledge that she learned during her time studying psychology at SUNY Albany combined with her medical knowledge from NYIT to not only diagnose and treat her patients, but to relate to them on a deeper and more individualized level. She works with a team of medical professionals and works autonomously to deliver the best possible care to her patients.

Rebecca diligently works to expand her knowledge and skills through continued medical education programs to stay up to date on evidence-based medicine and new and evolving treatments for pain.
